Corring Gehrls, a former flight attendant on Oprah Winfrey's private jet, has reportedly filed suit against the talk show host claiming she was improperly fired in July 2009.
The suit, which also names Harpo Inc., fellow flight attendant Myron Gooch and Kirby Bumpus, the daughter of Gayle King and goddaughter of Winfrey, alleges Gherls was dismissed after false accusations she had sex with pilot Terry Pansing during a flight.
Gooch and Bumpus allegedly accused Gherls and Pansing of having sex while the passengers, including Winfrey, slept during a flight. Gherls claims the incident did occur, but it was while the plane was on the ground refueling, not during a flight.
Despite Gherls and Pansing passing polygraph tests, which she claims Winfrey knew about, both were fired. Gherls is seeking over $75,000 in damages. Representatives for Winfrey and Harpo declined to comment on the suit.
